About Rifqah - Handcrafted Wood Décor, Egypt
Our Story: Why Rifqah Exists
Rifqah is a Cairo-based home décor studio that hand-carves meaningful Arabic words — Baraka (blessing), Hefz (protection), Sakina (tranquility) — into solid wood wall art for Egyptian homes. We exist for one reason: to make sure the walls of your home say something worth reading, not just something that looks nice for a season.
Why "Rifqah"? The Meaning Behind Our Name
The Arabic word **رفقة** (Rifqah) means companionship — not the fleeting kind, but the kind that stays with you. It carries the idea of *rafeeq*, a companion who walks beside you, and of gentleness: the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, *"Allah is gentle and loves gentleness in all matters."*
That's the promise behind everything we make. Rifqah isn't a name we chose because it sounded nice. It's the standard we hold every piece to — gentle, lasting, a true companion in your home.
Our Story
There's a moment every family knows — the first time you unlock the door to a new home. The walls are bare. The rooms echo. It's beautiful, and it's waiting.
For generations, Egyptian and Arab families have understood that a home isn't truly a home until it carries Baraka (blessing), Sakina (tranquility), and Hefz (protection) somewhere within its walls. But somewhere along the way, most home décor stopped carrying any of that. It became generic — mass-produced prints and patterns that could belong to anyone, anywhere, and mean nothing to everyone.
We built Rifqah as a refusal of that.
Wood is the oldest material of human shelter. It holds the memory of trees, of roots, of things that take time to grow and last generations. When we carve a word into it, we're not decorating a wall — we're writing something permanent into the story of a home. Every guest who sees it. Every child who grows up beneath it.
We're not a product company. We're artisans of meaning — and we make it beautiful enough to stay forever.
What We Believe
Everything we make is held to four standards:
Meaning first:
Every piece starts with a word or a feeling, not a design trend. Aesthetics is how we deliver the meaning — it's never the starting point.

Real craft:
We're not a print shop. Each piece is solid wood, hand-carved, hand-finished — not printed, not MDF, not something that fades in a year like a poster.

Arabic heritage, proudly:
Kufic calligraphy, Arabic geometric pattern, the poetry of the Arabic language — this is our design language, not an afterthought translated from somewhere else.

Made for your family, not just any family:
From a name carved above a door to a piece made for a parent's home, customization is at the center of what we do — see our Athar (أثر) collection.

Handcrafted in Egypt, Made to Last
Every Rifqah piece is solid, natural wood, not printed plastic standing in for wood grain. The carving is done by hand, which means no two pieces are perfectly identical, and none of them fade the way a printed canvas or poster does within a year.
We fulfill ready-made orders in 1-4 business days and ship across Egypt, because a piece that carries meaning for your home shouldn't take weeks to get there.
Trusted by Egyptian Homes
Rifqah pieces now sit in more than 150 homes across Egypt, with the words Baraka, Hefz, and Sakina among the most requested in the country. We back every non-customized piece with a 14-day exchange policy, because we want you to be certain before it becomes part of your home for good.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Rifqah handmade?
Yes. Every piece is carved from solid wood, then finished by hand — not mass-printed or machine-stamped.
Where is Rifqah based, and how fast do you deliver?
Rifqah is based in Cairo, Egypt, and ships nationwide. Ready-made pieces are fulfilled within 1-4 business days; customized pieces take longer due to the handcrafting process.
What do the Arabic words on Rifqah pieces mean?
Each piece is built around a single meaningful Arabic word — Baraka (blessing), Hefz (protection), and Sakina (tranquility) are our most requested. Every product page explains the meaning of its word before anything else.
Can I customize a piece with my family's name?
Yes — our Athar (أثر) collection is built specifically for personalized pieces: family names, dates that matter, or a prayer specific to your home.
What is Rifqah made of?
Solid, natural wood — not printed materials — sometimes paired with resin in our Riwaq collection for a wood-and-resin design.
Rifqah was built on a simple belief: a home isn't four walls, it's the first place your family learns what you value. [Explore our collections] and find the word your home needs.
